About this game
Developer: Ion Storm
Content Rating: Mature
The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control.

Its brilliant design and elegant follow through make Deus Ex the best game I've played this year, and I think it's safe to say it's one of the most versatile first-person games ever. Those of you looking for a complex, unique experience will find it in Deus Ex. While I had a good idea that Deus Ex was going to be a winner way before I played it, the team at Ion Storm has gone above and beyond all the expectations I had for this game, and has made one of the most fulfilling single-player games I've played in years.
There is no doubt that Deus Ex is a difficult game; many of the problems presented are quite fiendish, and require the player to think laterally, while several of the combat situations are near-impossible if an all-guns-blazing approach is taken. But the game never gets boring, and while you may turn it off in frustration after a couple of deaths, you will soon be itching to get back in and try a different approach.
