Citizens of Earth is an RPG that places you in the shoes of the Vice President of the World! He's a classic bureaucrat: charming, charismatic, but practically useless. After recently winning the vice presidency, he returns to his rural home town for some vacation. But he soon inadvertently discovers that there is some very strange stuff happening around town. Feeling a sense of responsibility as an elected official you decide to do something about it! But being the bureaucrat you are, you don't actually want to get your hands dirty. Thus you go about using your charisma to recruit normal townsfolk to help you investigate and fight your battles for you.

If I were to think hard and long about the bad parts of Citizens of Earth, I’d probably cite the game’s stability. The game crashed several times, many times while saving. Maybe the game is more stable on mobile platforms, but the PC version has a lot of backend programming problems. Heck, sometimes quests would just complete without me actually taking the steps to complete them which… was nice… but was still weird.

If you can look past the technical issues, the lackluster story, and some of the frustrating design decisions, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll get lost in Citizens of Earth’s beautifully bizarre world. During the first 10 hours or so, I definitely did. Unfortunately as the game went on, the charm started to wear off and the flaws started to stand out more than everything that I loved about the game.

Making matters worse, the game does very little to guide you. You have an agenda that lists all your main missions and side tasks, but it doesn’t provide information on what you need to do. Instructions are frustratingly vague and lead to hours of wandering around the map with no inkling of what you need to do. The map isn’t at all helpful either.
