The overall impressions are much the same. This isn't a dramatic reinvention of Bad Company 2, though I doubt anybody would want it to be. At the same time, none of the maps deliver the same kind of awe as the base game's highlights. Port Valdez, for instance, is still riddled with frequently incredible moments a year later and must surely be destined to become a fan favourite. Running over freshly scorched earth in Hill 137 is always amazing, but the overall sum of Vietnam's parts, while entertaining in their own right, don't ever quite match up to the pre-existing levels.
Whether you're new to Bad Company 2 or have been repairing, healing, and blowing up other players since March of this year, Bad Company 2 -Vietnam is among the best multiplayer experiences this year. The ability to contribute and succeed and unlock additional levels in ways that don't have to include shooting other players and the reliance on strategy over twitch gameplay clicks just as well in Bad Company 2 - Vietnam.
Overall, DICE has recreated the Battlefield Vietnam experience in this modern gaming age. Vietnam is completely faithful to the quality of a standard known by all which embodies the majority of the Battlefield franchise's titles. This expansion pack is well worth the purchase and is complete bliss to play. It definitely makes a wonderful gift for yourself or someone else this holiday season.
