Western RPG meets JRPG, taken from comics book if i'm not mistaken, story and design is very well western, character development is good, skill tree and equipment is good, but don't expect it like Diablo, not that massive, graphics style is cartoonish, kind a like watching comic book, gorgeous, give it a chance, this game is good, i really wanted a sequel, hopefully

ooh by the way, i bought this game on Steam and PS4, discounted price, a decent one

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a special game. It's built from the ground up with modern sensibilities and has as much charm and personality as a traditional RPG. Battle Chasers is a turn based RPG in itself but forgoes a lot of what they're known for to offer an exciting new experience.

As far as grinding, leveling, and the lack of a serious narrative, that is all dependent on what your tastes are. If you’re looking for a Final Fantasy-type experience, you’re not going to find it with Battle Chasers: Nightwar. If you are the type that gets a sense of catharsis from the repetition of turn-based battles and grinding for bigger and better loot than you’ve come to the right place.

Outside of the unorthodox pairing of gameplay and presentation, Battle Chasers: Nightwar isn't that remarkable of a game on paper. Many of the mechanics are largely borrowed from other games and the narrative merely exists to move the party from one dungeon to the next -- practical but not altogether captivating. That stated, Nightwar is a game that ends up slightly more than the sum of its components, partially due to the novelty of the package as a whole, and (admittedly) somewhat due to the nostalgia of the turn-based rpg at its core.
