Summary
Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.
Audiosurf on Steam includes The Orange Box soundtrack, integrated with the game to enable "Still Alive" surfing and more. In addition, Audiosurf is one of the first titles to leverage Steamworks, offering full support for the Steam Achievements that appear on Steam Community profile pages.

A better fusion of casual and hardcore gameplay styles would be difficult to come by, particularly one with such boundless source material. The game is yours to manipulate as it readily acquiesces to your mood, making it worth playing on nearly any occasion, for any reason, for any person.
The superhighway has a cool, neon, rock and roll vibe to it with lots of flashing lights and fireworks. It doesn't change all that much from game to game, and mode to mode, but there are different spaceships for each of the different modes. The arcade style of gameplay in which the difficulty increases to make new levels more challenging is going to bore the novelty seekers, but hardcores will appreciate the virtually unlimited replay value, the two-player mode, and the online leaderboard.
Within moments of embarking upon the track, you’ll know if you’ve got it right, both from its immediate feel, how closely it seems synchronized to the underlying rhythms, and from the crazily spiking and spiraling minimap that hints at the rollercoaster to come. Whenever you choose correctly, you’ll want to beckon others over to coo at the orgasmic colors and unreal topography of your achievement.
