If you’re a fan of the first Anodyne or even just a fan of retro-styled gaming, then you should definitely give Anodyne 2: Return to Dust a chance. It’s unique blending of two completely different art styles and gameplay mechanics was a huge risk for Analgesic Productions to take, but in the end it pays off very well. Its thought provoking story, complex characters, and self-aware and deprecating humor make it game that sets itself apart from the rest.

nodyne 2 is a unique game that really can't be compared with any other in the industry - not even the original of the "series." Anodyne 2 is a jack of all trades that is what it wants to be in any specific time; a 3D platformer from the late '90s, a 2D Zelda-esque puzzler with a GBC/GBA feel, a completely obscure adventure, an existential trip down to the subconscious, and so on and forth. If a lover of weird, give it a look. It's hard to foretell whether you'll like it or not, but it will definitely manage to stay with you for a while... and then some.
