It's a shame, because Amnesia: Memories has an interesting tale to tell. But without an English language guide, early players are going to quickly become frustrated, especially since the Japanese guide sometimes fails to show what the right choice is. Once a brave player puts up a comprehensive ending guide, though, it's worth working through this nice-looking visual novel.

Amnesia: Memories has a great many strengths which include its fantastic visuals, high quality voice acting and tremendous replay value. Players coming in need to know that this isn’t just a fluffy, sweet otome title; there are mysteries to uncover which may reveal unpleasant things. Many of the men our protagonist dates are annoying jerks, and bad endings are seriously bad. All these features help to give the game depth and stand out against other genre contemporaries, though.

If there’s one thing that Amnesia: Memories can be commended for over all else, it’s the fact that a lot of work seems to have been put towards really pushing the theme of “remembering.” Almost everything that the novel showcases exhibits an almost nostalgic vibe; artstyle, sound design, and the overarching story come together to form a rather cohesive VN. The only real complaint that can be leveled against it as a product would have to be the abundance of typos and misspellings throughout Amnesia: Memories‘s many slides of text.
