Star Wars: Squadrons Announces 2 New Ships; the TIE Defender and B-Wing

Star Wars: Squadrons had launched last October, and the game has been getting some great praise from fans. While we have a solid choice of starships for each side, EA Motive has announced two new ships coming to the game for the holiday season.

Check out the B-Wing and the TIE Defender:

These two starfighters are as powerful as they are iconic, though understandably balanced out for the purposes of the game. The B-wing will be categorized as a Bomber-class starfighter and the TIE defender will be a Fighter, each being able to use the components relevant to their faction and class, but they’ll also come with their own unique aspects in line with what you’d expect from them, such as the B-wing with its gyro-cockpit and swiveling wings and the TIE defender with its shields.

While both ships definitely have their own perks, the team is making sure that they don’t meddle with the balance when it comes to the game. Depending on the players, there would still be benefits when it comes to choosing a Y-Wing over a B-Wing or a standard TIE to a TIE Defender.

Though the ships are coming in December, an update is also set to come this month that will bring the campaign map, Fostar Haven, to Fleet Battles and Dogfight mode. We should also expect some quick fixes for other bugs in the game.

The Fostar Haven update comes out on Nov. 25, and the B-Wing and TIE Defender get ready to fly in December. Star Wars: Squadrons is now playable for Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
