In a surprise announcement, there’s a whole new PlayerUnknown’s Battleground game coming soon. The game’s publisher, a whole new studio named ‘Striking Distance’, is gearing up for the future of this brand new BR title set in the PUBG Universe.
The company’s newly appointed CEO, Glen Schofield, made the announcement of this promising venture. He was behind the success of the ever popular survival horror game Dead Space and the notable Call of Duty franchise.
He said: "As a creative, the freedom to explore the PUBG universe has me excited about the possibilities, which I view as beyond the battle royale genre." He also confirmed, via Tweet, that it is not a sequel to PUBG.
Not much details were unveiled as of the moment, but it does look like it is gonna be a step higher than Brendan Greene’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which was once an Arma 2 mod. It was an industry-defining success and Glen cannot wait for the future of his new project.
