Besides the release of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Ubisoft is gearing up for the return of one of their other larger franchises, Far Cry. The cinematic trailer for Far Cry 6 has just been released, and it reveals a fascist villain played by none other than Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad).

ABOUT FAR CRY 6: In Far Cry® 6, players are immersed in the adrenaline-filled, chaotic world of a modern-day guerrilla revolution. Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Become a guerrilla fighter and burn their regime to the ground.

This time, players get to take control of lead character Dani Rojas as he attempts to bring down the dictatorship of Anton Castillo. The setting is the capital cit of Esperanza which boasts to be ‘the most expansive Far Cry playground to date.’ Go underground and attack the governments with horses, tanks, or whatever you can find in your arsenal.

The Far Cry franchise is probably best known for its villains, and it’s great that they managed to get Esposito in the role. If you recall, one of the series’ most iconic villains, Vaas, is played by Michael Mando—the same guy who plays Gus Fring’s double agent Nacho in Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul.

Also worth noting is that the dictator’s son, Diego, is also being played by Coco star Anthony Gonzalez.

Far Cry 6 is set to come out on Feb. 18, 2021 and will be available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
