That experience is still a fulfilling one, however, that—coupled with Episode One—feels like a complete circle. Players who enjoyed the first part of Joe’s journey will absolutely find more to love in Episode Two, in both execution and conclusion. The beginning and ending have interesting parallels in gameplay and plot that create a satisfying cycle for our time with Joe, making every moment in this beautiful dystopia one worth remembering.

Episode 2 is also longer than the first, giving some extra room for more dark humor. Sometimes, The Silent Age Episode 2 feels as if it’s stretching things out, courtesy of backtracking, but it’s still solidly enjoyable for the most part. Thanks to its gentle learning curve and compelling storyline, it’s a fine example of the genre.

The Silent Age: Episode Two is a suitable closing chapter with more smart puzzles, interesting locations, and a plot that wraps up everything quite nicely. But its slightly amateur storytelling and squandered concept keep it away from being a true classic.
