Harnessing the intensity of classic arcade shoot-’em-ups combined with the hottest smartphone technology, Sky Force 2014 offers a stunning scrolling shooter experience with an incredible new social gameplay element.
Despite being drawn to Sky Force 2014 mostly for its audiovisual appeal, once I complete a few runs, it’s admittedly hard to put down. In hopes of topping the global leaderboards, or at least the local one, I play until my phone can play no more… or my fingers; whichever comes first and I believe that’s what makes a great mobile game.

It's not all the game it could be, but taking it for what it is, it's a terrific game, of such high quality that I could see even the hardest critic of free-to-play having a great time playing it. It's a welcome return for one of the classics of the mobile scene, and I await Sky Force 2024 with great interest.
Finally! A SHMUP that isn’t designed to designed to bleed the wallet dry. Sky Force 2014 walks the free-to-play line brilliantly, while still offering up a stellar shooter experience. Don’t miss out on this rapid firing gem.
Without a doubt, the graphics (although they're inspired in the SHMUPs of the 90s) and the combat effects are the strongest points. The frenetic rhythm of the game along with the increasing difficulty will hook you in from the first moment. Sky Force 2014 includes different models of ships, upgrades, power-ups, and, of course, final bosses. There aren't many missions, and the game can end up feeling somewhat short - although you can beat all the missions on one difficulty level, then go back and try it on a harder one. The ads can be somewhat intrusive.
Sky Force 2014 may have simple ambitions, but it executes these tasks in perfect fashion. If shooters are your cup of tea, you’ll be flying these war drenched skies more often than you can imagine. Free to play apps usually come with a ton of compromise, but with Sky Force 2014 the only thing you’ll need to buy is time.
Sky Force 2014 is a fantastic shooter, both in terms of look and combat. While the grind may make it a little slow at times, this is a stylish and revitalised old-school shooter that’s at the top of its class.
Sky Force 2014 is a middle of the road shooter in a world where bombast and spectacle rule the roost. A game that sparks occasionally but never manages to catch fire, Sky Force 2014 is a pretty average shooter in a world where that's not good enough.
