Summary

Do you wield your bat with zen-like focus or do your balls of fury give you a killer spin? Table tennis goes mobile with a twist in Power Ping Pong. Master your backspins and drop shots using intuitive and slick touch controls to outwit a series of oddball Kung Fu fighters – from sumo wrestlers to mad scientists and pandas. Smash your way to the top in Arcade mode or duel with friends in frantic local and online multiplayer modes. Use lightening fast reflexes against lethal skill shots and use fun power-ups to break your rival’s focus. Think you know your way around a paddle? Put those skills to the test against Yedai Sensei in Survival mode. Try and top the leaderboards or better yet, try and defeat Sensei himself!

In all, it's an incredibly impressive package that's well worth your five dollars--so long as you're prepared to put in a little effort on the (apparently small) chance you have any of the control issues I did.

Throughout, Power Ping Pong’s colorful aesthetic is consistently charming and appealing. It adds to the vibrant nature of the sport, and keeps you feeling lively. While Power Ping Pong might seem a little expensive at first, you’re free of the allure of in-app purchases, ensuring that this is a reasonably priced all-in-one package. It’ll stick in your mind too, thanks to adding personality to such a typically straight laced sport.

There are inter-stage one armed bandits, skill trees, and oodles of modes and backdrops to unlock, plus multiplayer. It's a shrill, ludicrous, macho confection stuffed with hours of content – and there's not an IAP in sight. But the table tennis gameplay engine working beneath all the bunkum is solid, and that's what really matters. ...Power Ping Pong lays the arcade elements on thick, but it's stuffed with content and its gameplay is totally solid.
