It’s got dynamic cutscenes with slow motion shots. It’s got a giant octopus. There are corrupt characters and devious villains. There’s even a siren in a chariot aquarium. The puzzles and mini-games are suitably well-made to match the pomp, creating one of the finest and most exciting games this year.
In a genre full of predictability, it’s nice to see that the puzzles within Nightmares From the Deep: The Siren’s Call are more interesting than usual. Sure they’re still a little on the easy side, but they’re consistently satisfying to complete. Remaining logical throughout is a nice move also, sidestepping any frustration. AOffering a satisfyingly entertaining adventure experience, Nightmares From the Deep: The Siren's Call is worth checking out.
The Siren's Call boasts top-notch presentation, too. The graphics are lovely (the rain-slick streets of Kingsmouth particularly lend the game a moody, mysterious atmosphere), and the voice acting is decent. It's fun to paw through the game's scenery just to observe how good everything looks. Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call is a grand adventure / hidden object experience for fans of The Cursed Heart as well as newcomers to the series.
