The mobile port is the perfect experience for someone who is on the go and, literally, may only have a minute or two to play at a time. While we found Minit to be most satisfying in longer stints, it certainly is a great game to carry around in your pocket. Funky, inprecise touch-based controls threatened to kill the experience for us, but the sense of nostalgia, innovative concept, and satisfying sense of exploration still make minute a must play for anyone who has a minute.

Minit is a game perfectly suited to mobile platforms and portables in general with its literal minute long gameplay segments. You can always get in a run or two while waiting for someone in a cafe or on the bus. While I am disappointed with the lack of full controller support and how some aspects have not transitioned well to touch controls, Minit is still a must play title. It is such a brilliant concept that takes a gameplay style that works well but keeps things super fresh at all times. If you’ve not played Minit on any other platform yet, the iOS version is absolutely worth the asking price. Do yourself a favour and get the soundtrack as well.

Minit has some neat tricks up its sleeves, but I lost interest in looking for them before I finished it. The looping mechanic is one that makes for a great pitch and first impression, but it gets old very quickly. This isn’t to say there aren’t things to enjoy about Minit, but they were probably far more enjoyable a year ago when the game was fresh and you were playing it with a controller.
