It's 1920's Norway, and you play as Ruth, a young woman who lives alone on a remote farm at the end of a faraway fjord. You take care of your cows and make delicious dairy products that your friend sells in the closest town. But life is hard and work is tough, and Ruth ponders: Is this really the life I want? It's not easier when mysterious things start happening to you and your cows. And then a huge, mysterious ship descends from the skies, turning Ruth's life upside-down. Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a delightful, classic point-and-tap adventure game that combines an exciting story with puzzles and exploration. It's also written completely in rhyme!

Milkmaid of the Milky Way does a great job of using tried-and-true point-and-click gameplay mechanics that are easy to figure out, yet still provide enough of a challenge for veteran gamers, along with great pixel art graphics and a solid soundtrack, making this game feel like a newer Monkey Island. Prepare to have to figure out how to get around on your own, with some incredibly frustrating puzzles and Milkmaid just doesn’t last very long, with not a lot of replay value once you're done.
I would still recommend Milkmaid of the Milky Way if you are a fan of point-and-click adventure games and enjoy rhymes.
Milkmaid of the Milky Way isn't the most narratively or mechanically impactful adventure game I've played, but it does make a heck of an aesthetic statement that really stuck with me. Even despite a lot of its clunkiness, I think Milkmaid of the Milky Way is worth checking out.
