Overall, Journey on iOS is a must play if you’ve never played it before. Hopefully the few issues like the audio bugs on older devices and camera controls are addressed in a future update. The lack of controller support is pretty baffling considering this is originally a console game and I hope proper controller support is added at least when iOS 13 ships.
All things considered, Journey is a wonderful game that will keep you immersed in its world from the get-go. It truly is a work of art, and everyone should experience it at least once. One thing that is also worth mentioning is that currently, Journey costs 4.99 USD, which is pretty decent bang for your buck considering the fact that your first playthrough will take approximately three hours. When you factor in that Journey has an amazing replay-value, it is definitely worth buying. All in all, try it out, you certainly won’t regret it.
I’m not sure Journey is best experienced on mobile, but it’s still a fantastic game. If this is the only way you would play it, you should definitely do so. The compromise in bringing Journey to the App Store didn’t significantly impact my enjoyment of it. All of the most important stuff is still there, and that’s worth celebrating.
