The core puzzle mechanics of Incidence are really clever and make for a unique puzzle experience. Unfortunately though, experiencing that stuff is hard to enjoy because Incidence is so unforgiving that it lacks a lot of nice usability features of other puzzle games. This could be because Incidence is trying to be truly minimal in design, but the game is worse for it.

I wish there was a little more to Incidence, but I had a great time learning its rulesets and mastering them. By the time I hit level 100 I felt like a pro, but there wasn't anything left to conquer. I have a feeling that any updates probably won't incrementally increase the difficulty or expand upon the concept (as the complete onboard set doesn't either, it's more of a moderate slow build). Right now Incidence simply is what it is, but puzzle fiends should have a grand old time picking it up while it lasts.

Incidence will not enrapture everyone who gives it a try – it’s probably more of a love it or hate it kind of game. Additionally, the premium price point might prove a barrier to entry for some, as it’s the sort of game you’re more likely to devote a few hours to completing rather than making it a permanent fixture on the precious home screen.
