The crazy troops return in this next and final installment of the franchise loved by millions. Command your troops wisely and try to prevail against the massive 60 mission campaign that says you can't.
A part of me thinks that I’m expecting too much, because Great Little War Game 2 is for players who want to blow stuff up without worrying about things like terrain types or unit ranks. But another, bigger part suspects that it’s a half-baked cash-in on a popular franchise name, or, perhaps, that it was rushed out the door in an incomplete state to meet some arbitrary deadline. Either way, I’m really not impressed. “Great,” this game is not.
So unless any of those things I just mentioned sound like deal-breakers, then Great Little War Game 2 is pretty easy to recommend. It is an admirably solid strategy game that contains enough depth and breadth to make it feel like a meaningful experience.
Great Little War Game 2 offers up a huge, new campaign in the most refined version of one of the better strategy engines on iOS. I'd love to see Rubicon blow the doors off again, of course, but I'm still quite satisfied with what we've received here, even if it does lack ambition. It's another great little bit of strategic fun, nothing more, nothing less.
