Darkness Rising might have the trappings of a hardcore game, but it proudly stands atop the midcore hill. It's fun in its own ways, and there's a decent enough story to push you from encounter to savage encounter. But it's not the action game you might have hoped it was going to be. Go in expecting that and you'll be disappointed, but take Darkness Rising for what it is and there's a good chunk of enjoyment to be had here.

La ricca campagna in single player, con tutto il suo contorno, viene peraltro coadiuvata da modalità cooperative e competitive che contribuiscono a rendere ancora più interessante l'esperienza. Il gioco pecca sicuramente di originalità e non si lascia inquadrare facilmente in termini di bilanciamento, ma di certo sa il fatto suo.
