Chivalry 2 is perfect for folks who want to have a chaotic good time and enjoy the fantasy of fighting in romanticized medieval battlefields. There are a couple of downsides, but it's still an amazing game that we can't recommend enough.

Guilty Gear -Strive- will impress longtime fans of the series and has made significant changes to lower the barrier of entry for newcomers, but there might not enough content for some.

Rust Console Edition

Cole MartinJun 04, 2021
Rust: Console Edition is ruthlessly challenging survival sandbox that can make even the most tedious task feel like a victory when properly executed. The console port is around three years behind its PC counterpart in updates, leading to poor quality that makes the struggles of an already unfair world feel exacerbated.

Biomutant has an interesting setting and world but is held back by technical issues, an unintuitive combat system, lack of proper characterization, and very repetitive missions.

Knockout City is a breath of fresh air in an overcrowded market of looter shooters and free-to-play cash grabs. With polished and accessible gameplay, cross-play and cross-progression, and tons of characters, the world of Knockout City is already one of the best multiplayer games on the PC that can only get better with time.

Wrath of the Druids is very much an expansion to Valhalla, for better or worse. It doesn't bring anything new to the table, but there are over a dozen hours of content in Ireland to experience. If you're looking for more of the same from the base game, this is it.

Resident Evil Village presents me with a conundrum I’ve felt all too often throughout certain eras of the franchise (particularly RE4): If I have the means to kill everything in my way at all times, why should I be scared? There are times it adequately answers this question and times where it does not. But that’s an ongoing issue with the balance of power in a supposed horror game.

Judgment is a great spin-off of Yakuza, and is an excellent starting point for those interested in the series. However, the new detective elements don't go as far as they need to and end up feeling like scene dressing.

The NieR Replicant remake is an excellent action RPG with one of the best game stories ever and updated combat, but it's not without a few problems.

A cuter take on city management than the usual fare, Buildings Have Feelings Too! boasts solid gameplay, a catchy soundtrack, and lots of extra challenge for those who seek it out.

Rain on Your Parade is a charmingly delightful blend of puzzle-solving and ridiculous antics wrapped in a unique setting. You'll be the hero, the villain, and mischievous nuisance in this self-aware title, literally bringing the thunder to this cardboard cut-out world.

Spacebase Startopia is a great time if you like city sim resource management-based games, but unfortunately doesn't excel in any one area. Caution to those highly susceptible to motion sickness.

If you're willing to overlook some questionable design choices, there's plenty of fun to be had with Outriders. Despite its numerous flaws, Outriders manages to provide loads of incredible, over-the-top fun.

Evil Genius 2: World Domination draws on its past and injects some much-needed modernity, culminating in what is ultimately a satisfying strategy sandbox with a relentlessly rewarding gameplay loop and light-hearted comedy. Evil Genius 2 is not without its flaws, but they fade into the background, shoved aside by a parade of great design and honest-to-goodness fun. Well, dishonest-to-evil fun, anyway.

The final DLC for Doom Eternal was worth the wait, providing some gorgeous new locations and challenging fights worthy of concluding the Slayer's saga. However, they won't let you pilot the big mechs, and that's disappointing.

Little Nightmares II builds on its predecessor as a sequel should, expanding the scope of the universe both in terms of lore and mechanics. Little Nightmares II is one of 2021's first must-play titles.

Nioh 2: The Complete Edition is an excellent Soulslike that features superb combat mechanics, great level design, a beautiful world, and more, and the upgrades and bonuses that come with the Complete Edition are the cherry on top.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition is still fun to play. It's a solid 2D beat em up with lots of charm and a sweet soundtrack, but there are better games in the genre since its 2010 debut.
