Super Robot Wars 30PS4
Overall, Super Robot Wars 30 is worth the price of admission and JRPG fans will love the content it has to offer. The story, animation, gameplay, and setting prove that this game is worth celebrating 30 years of the franchise. For those who wish to play this game, they can start first playing the DEMO in either the PS4 or Nintendo Switch to get used to the game’s system and more. Super Robot Wars 30 has shown many, including myself, what it means to be a major gaming franchise for BANDAI NAMCO.
Skul: The Hero SlayerSwitch
Overall, Skul: The Hero Slayer is a great roguelike where we play a very funny antihero trying to save his masters from actual heroes who have come to flex how powerful humans are. The game is great at making fun of itself since we get to use bones we got from our friends as weapons and we get to throw our own skull at enemies.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of AshesPS5
Supermassive’s third Dark Pictures Anthology game, House of Ashes, doesn’t do much to differentiate itself from the previous two installments, instead deciding to stick to the script those games wrote. Dreadfully unlikeable characters and a sense of false agency in character relationships hold it back from being a game you can really invest yourself in.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Hinokami KeppuutanPS4
The anime’s premise and potential could have been largely utilized in this game, without it seeming like another copy-paste of CyberConnect2’s most popular franchise. As not even the font style and layout were spared from the obvious replication, it may not hit the mark with a new generation of those presently following the genre.
Back 4 BloodXbox Series X
On its own, Back 4 Blood isn’t a bad zombie game. I can definitely see people enjoying it with friends. However it’s difficult to give a confident recommendation when it offers such a mediocre experience. Should they be able to balance the difficulty a little better, that could be paramount into improving the game.
Overall, if you know what you’re getting into with Insurgency Sandstorm, I am confident it will be an enjoyable game. It is a competent and decently fleshed-out mil-sim shooter that is rarely found outside of the PC space. Otherwise, you might just end up playing in silence, get sniped a few times from an unseen enemy, and decide to spend your time elsewhere as the game doesn’t do much in terms of catering to solo players thanks to its hardcore nature.
Alan Wake RemasteredPS5
While some of the game’s mechanics haven’t aged super well, it’s still a fun and eerie ride through Bright Falls, and it is enjoyable to see where Remedy came from. If I had played this game when it first came out, I think I would have appreciated it more, but that isn’t to say Alan Wake Remastered isn’t worth your time. If you’re looking for an eccentric and spooky story with some zany characters and good gameplay, spend some time with Alan in Bright Falls.
Phoenix Point: Behemoth EditionPS4
Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition is a very good game, objectively. It is an absolute treat for seasoned veterans, and there is enough intrigue here that’ll satisfy new comers to the genre. The game has plenty of content and a story of survival with plenty of moments of self-doubt and revelations. But the game itself doesn’t run well on PS4. And that’s unfortunate. Only time will tell if patches can improve on the experience.
Super Monkey Ball Banana ManiaPS4
Overall, the game is good though it has minor problems that needs fixing. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is truly a throwback of older titles, and is a treat to loyal fans of SEGA, especially those who played its predecessors during the GameCube and PS2 era. It is highly recommended that players should watch the gameplay trailers of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania and see if it piques their interest.
Alongside its more gruesome moments in the uncensored version, yet lacking in extra content in the normal version, it’s hard to give a high recommendation. Succubus is enjoyable, but not deep, with entertaining elements, but ultimately becomes boring over long play sessions.
From playing the game that would the basis for all the games that came after it, I can truly say that Final Fantasy 1 a product of its time with both positives and negatives from that era of gaming. On the whole, Final Fantasy 1 Pixel Remaster is still a good game with great music and a sense of exploration, which is enhanced by the art of the remastered version, but shows its age through its gameplay, story and characters.
Unbound: Worlds ApartPC
Unbound: Worlds Apart is a game that follows traditional Metroidvania tropes but expands on puzzles that keep you on your toes more than a boss battle, on top of nicely animated and drawn backgrounds, you are in on at least a hundred flavors of fun spanning hours of gameplay.
The AscentXbox Series X
If you’re up for instant, fluid twin-stick shooting gunplay with easy-to-grasp mechanics and a massive arsenal of weapons, and a game that accurately evokes the cyberpunk theme then The Ascent is undoubtedly a game that may be worth your time regardless of the technical issues it has.
We were made aware after the review was complete, that the build of the game for review was not the final build and several key things were missing including interactions with an important secondary character, issues with the save function, and other things.
Cris Tales is a game that was crafted with a lot of love and passion for its predecessors. The artwork is pure eye candy, the music is just right and the characters are a joy. Sure the main storyline might be a bit derivative and the combat ended up being more repetitive than I would have liked but I couldn’t help but see myself being taken in by the unique time-traveling mechanics, decision-based quests, and charming story.
Its surprise of a story also managed to hook me in when outside of combat. Every moment-to-moment experience is perfectly crafted, from humorous dialogue to surprising revelations, standard encounters, and boss fights. This game is a treat and you should buy it and play it immediately.
SAMURAI WARRIORS 5PS4
To those who wish to play it, I recommend playing the demo first to familiarize themselves better with the system of Samurai warriors 5 plus special bonuses can be unlocked if a save file of Samurai Warriors 5 demo is found in gamers’ hardware. Playing it fully and watching these dramatic moments will spin the minds of gamers around.
Orcs Must Die! 3PC
All-in-all, I had a great time with Orcs Must Die 3, and a lot of time spent in it to boot. If you have any passing interest in those old tower offensive games on those free game websites, check this game out and you won’t regret it.
Total War: WARHAMMER II - The Silence & The FuryPC
Total War: Warhammer II is still an exceptional game, even after many years have passed since its initial release. The Silence & the Fury DLC is proof of that. The graphics may not be as cutting edge as it once was, but it is the core gameplay that ensures that players keep coming back to the title. It also helps that there are now dozens of Lords to choose from, hailing from different faction. (For a small price, of course.)
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HDSwitch
Skyward Sword HD is enough of a Zelda game that fans of the series will still have a good time playing it. With a strong story and characters that stand out, there is still fun to be had despite the god awful controls that do their best to ruin what would’ve been an outstanding game had it adhered to traditional gameplay mechanics.
Watch Dogs: Legion - BloodlinePS4
At the end of the day, it’s hard for me to recommend Watch Dogs Bloodlines when I can’t even recommend Legion. All I can say is that if you’ve already purchased Legion, then getting Bloodlines can be worth getting providing that you already like the base game.
All-in-all, it took about 5 to 6 hours to complete my first playthrough. Last Stop is a really fun, engaging, and well-written adventure game that struggles a bit at the end but is elevated by its various characters, great voice acting, good music, and beautiful yet striking minimalist art style.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of RuinPC
Monster Hunter Stories 2 certainly isn’t a perfect game, the story is paced awkwardly, the voice acting is dry and it’s mostly a stripped-back Monster Hunter experience that not every Monster Hunter fan will want to play. Where Monster Hunter truly succeeds is in making the combat captivating, the story charming and the monsties fun to collect and manage.
Rust Console EditionPS4
Overall, if you’re not a fan of having to always end up with nothing this game is not for you. Rust Console Edition will definitely appeal to people who like a challenge and would like nothing more than to prove theirself capable of surviving in a dog-eat-dog world. Otherwise, I think it’s best you stick to other games that allow you to play at your own pace.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark AlliancePS4
Overall, Dark Alliance is a fun game for quick 30-minute sessions with friends. However, I’d personally want it to stay in development for longer so developers would fix some of the game’s issues. It’s highly detailed and beautiful, but that’s the only best quality I could say about it right now.
