Whispering Willows isn’t a perfect adventure game, but neither is it a waste of time. Its audio is particularly well done, and delivers some truly spooky moments (wear a decent pair of headphones and drink it all in). Just book yourself a little extra time when you want to play the game. Elena isn’t in a rush to get anywhere.
Whispering Willows definitely had a lot of potential. If the gameplay were given a little more attention, and the content bulked up a little (I finished the entire game in a little more than three hours), it would have entered the annals of excellent indie games. However, I still have hope for Night Light Interactive. After all, it’s only their first game. Maybe their next title will have corrected the mistakes of the first.
