The short-but-sweet in-game tutorial will get you up and slicing down monsters rather quickly. Graphics look pretty good and are also quite fluid. The in-game soundtrack sounds great. Since this is a free-to-play game, there’s a rather limited energy system, making long-burst gaming sessions near impossible, unless you’re willing to spend actual cash.
It functions well enough if you’re into mindless hacking and slashing, but you’ll probably forget about the game within a day or two. Dark Sword is a structurally sound game, but there is nearly no depth to its slashing.
Dark Sword is a hack and slash RPG with simplistic mechanics and nice looks. It's a nice time killer, but the novelty wears off quickly when you realize the depth is missing. In 15 minutes you will have seen all of it.
