Two years ago, Aksys was shocked by 999's success. This year, they shouldn't be shocked when VLR matches, then exceeds, its predecessor. This sequel is more twisted, more brutal and more memorable than that first volume, it's solidified Zero Escape as a series, and it's an experience I recommend to every gamer – if you're over 18, and if you've played 999 first.

I spent over 30 hours with Sigma and company, and I'll be damned if a bizarre final act will spoil an otherwise fine adventure. Through our shared struggles, I connected with these characters. By skating the time stream, I charted my own narrative. I want to share my experience with other players and have them share their own stories in turn.

While there isn’t much in terms of gameplay, those who pop the cartridge into their 3DS will enjoy one of the best narratives the system has to offer. As Zero would put it, “Have a nice tragedy…”

Its smart puzzles can be a little fiddly, but if you have any interest in story in games whatsoever and can deal with its murderous subject matter, this is a must play that will keep you engaged for dozens of hours.

As fun and challenging as the brainteasers in the room escapes are, they're merely dressing for the fantastic writing, memorable characters, and stunning plot twists that could only be presented successfully in a game format. This is an adventure that anyone who appreciates quality storytelling should not miss.

Teniendo en cuenta que estamos ante un título muy especial que puede no gustar a todo el mundo dada su apuesta por lo argumental frente al apartado jugable, sería injusto no valorar como se merece a Virtue's Last Reward. Y es que hay muy pocos juegos con un argumento tan sólido y sorprendente como el de esta novela interactiva que, sin hacer demasiado ruido, se ha convertido en uno de los lanzamientos importantes de PS Vita y 3DS.

Aber wer Lust auf eine überraschende Krimistory mit Science-Fiction-Flair, dramatische Psychokonflikte, tolle Gruppendynamik inkl. Wettspannung und ebenso abwechslungsreiche wie knackige Rätsel hat, kommt um diesen Thriller nicht herum. Je länger man spielt, desto mehr Facetten ergeben sich hinsichtlich der Charaktere sowie der Motive der Geiselnahme.

A l'instar de son prédécesseur, Virtue's Last Reward est un jeu d'aventure atypique à la construction narrative remarquable.
