I'm not sure if this has been discussed before in here ,but hey, what's there to lose.

So here are my hopes and expectations for the latest MH entry.

1. Less old monsters and more new. I get that Rathalos and Rathian are like staples to the franchise. But I hope that if they ever have to bring back old monsters, just bring them back as their variants, subspecies or Apex. 
I am perfectly fine facing a Dreadking Rathalos or a Dreadqueen Rathian the moment I hit G-Rank without facing a normal Rathian or Rathalos.
2. A mix of both worlds. What I mean by this is having the same quality of life changes found in New World but the combat of Old World. MH4U was the last (and best) of the old world entries and it had perfect combat. No flashy gimmicks, wire bugs or hunter arts. Just the knowledge you have on what weapon you are using and the monsters moveset.
3. Bring seasons back. The first MH game I played was DOS. And the seasons really brought a whole new change on how you do hunts. Gathering points will change and different monsters/elders would show up on different seasons on specific maps. In some maps, a new entry or path will open depending on what season it is. 
4. Bring old end-game elder dragons back. Examples are Dalamadur, Dire Miralis, Gogmazios, Yama Tsukami, Ahtal-Ka, Akantor and Ukanlos. 
5. Bring tracking back. Yes, paintballs. I don't care if you hate it Fiver. Gathering is waaaay easier than it is back then. I don't see a reason to remove paintballs.
6. Bring back temperature pots. They were not an issue back then so I was puzzled as to why they removed it in Rise. 
7. Crossplay.
8. Underwater combat? Hmmm, I hated it back then in Tri. But its 2023/2024. I'm sure Capcom could make underwater combat fun.
9. A new weapon. There are hints during the 20th anniversary stream. But it could just be "smoke in the air" for all we know.  I have no idea as to what it might be. I hope it would be cool. And knowing Capcom, I wont be disappointed.
